Lyrical, Seductive, Refined Michelle Skateboard Deck

My buddy Dane Lee started this publication called Ingenue and was wondering if I could help out Melvin Sokolsky with some retouching.

So I headed out to his home in Beverly Hills not knowing what to expect. Not only did he turn me on to the liquify tool but we had a great conversation about the subtleties of natural light.

After nice pasta lunch on his patio he let me check out the original contacts from this Paris shoot. In which I consider to be one of the most iconic series in fashion photography.

Even as a young skaterat thrashing the streets of Whittier, CA,
Ed always had a keen interest in illustration and fashion magazines.

This was shot with a 4 x 5 Graflex Super-D in Akihabara, Tokyo. I think I lost 8 pounds that week. If you want to get into shape fast. Eat tons of Japanese food (ie. fish and vegetables) then walk up and down Tokyo's super steep subway station stairs all day with over 25lbs of camera gear hanging from your neck.

My early drawings are now becoming a big influence on my personal/figure/portraits.

When I took this image about 5-years ago it made me think about this drawing in particular.

So when I was thrashing the streets of Whittier on my skateboard drawing was the only thing that could hold my attention for extended periods of time at least drawing women.

Klimt at the Getty it has been about 10 years since I last saw his women drawings in San Diego.

Laura Medanich from the Kimpton Group is always telling me that I live in Ed's World. Sounds pretty good. Okay, this is definitely Ed's World my sexy brunettes on a skate deck (that's 7-ply Canadian Maple) with plenty of pop to go around. This series is going out as gifts to all the right guys. I'm really excited about this project. The guys want them and the girls want to be on them.
